If you've read my blog before, you already know that I am no longer playing sf4, ssf4, or ssf4ae at all anymore. Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition has finally surfaced! Finally back to where Skill/Mix Ups = Win, not 500 throw commands on block with major block stun on everything. No more vortexes, no more FADC's, no more tier whoring! Best of all, my favorite character doesn't constantly get stuffed whenever he attacks! Hell yea!
So to kick this off right, I'm going to post the best match that I've had so far online! This match was on XBL (although I also own the psn version as well) with my now new friend "walk with red." This mirror match was epic!!! Enjoy!

Alright, being that I'm not all hyped up on SF4 anymore, I have decided that I am going to completely change the angle of this blog page. It will now be a blog talking about video games in general. I will be posting my own reviews, discussing the pros and cons of certain concepts in the latest games, and just giving my overall opinion on things that I see in the Game World. You will hear a lot more from me than in the past because I'm no longer angling this blog solely on SF. So get ready! The All New Rolento13 Blog approaches!!!

Just went to 8 on the Break last night! Haven't been there in a very long time. Actually, its been since SF4. This was my 1st SSF4 Tournament and I went in hard rockin with Ken!
First match was against Quotes who was using Dudley. First round was a definite wake up call. I got rocked so bad that I only landed maybe 2 attacks. So regrouping my thought pattern and play style was in order. So, I turned the whole match around and started get'n my shoto on and beat him for 2 matches.
Second match was against Ryder's Abel. I couldn't figure out how to approach him. His style has changed so much that I only got 1 round off on him. So I got sent to the losers bracket.
Third Match was against Spektrum's Cammy. At first, I was getting rocked the first match, so, once again. I had to regroup my thoughts and pattern. Pulled a match win. Then, at the last moment of the last match, I get knocked down. Spektrum jumps in too late, I wake up DP, Game Point! Whew, Close call in every way! Much better than the last match I had against him back at Kattermari's place during one of the Tea Boss Challenges.
So at this point, I'm really not feeling like I'm gonna do any better after this. I'm already down one game, one more game loss and I'm out of the tournament. Just trying to clear my head so that I don't bog myself down during the next match.
Fourth match was against Chris Matrix's Bison. I understand this match up pretty well, So It wasn't too bad of a fight. Just really had to keep my space between us other wise, Combo City! So, I win the first match. He decides to pick Akuma now. I know this match up far too well. I figure he wanted to even up the playing ground by being able to space me out and take advantage of combo situations. Well, That didn't work for him. I won match two fairly easy and fast.
Still, at this point, I'm still not thrilled at my performance because I'm still in the loser's bracket. Looking on the tournament screen to see how many matches left, oh boy. The loser's bracket just seems sooooo long.
Match five was against Liston's Sagat. Oh goodie, a match up that I really can't stand. I've hated it since SF4 and here I am again. I'm pretty sure that the last time I fought this guy I got destroyed, but so what. I'm here, he's here, whoever loses goes home. It's time to make it happen! First match is chock full of zoning, My ken trying to kara dash through fireballs, watching out for the Sagat mix up game, and teching throws left and right. So, match one, me. Match two, he realizes that I'm jumping in on him a lot, so he starts uppercutting me whenever I do. He wins match two. Ugh, is this it? Is this how I get taken out of the tournament? By the one character I despise the most? Nah son! Fuck that! Match three, I start playing real smart, but so does Liston. However, he's getting antsy and starting to jump more. Will I take advantage of this or should I wait to see if he lands and uppercuts or throws? Bitch I'm Ken! I'm dragon punchin like my life depends on it! Like Liza won't marry me if I don't!....even tho....she already did...after SF2....um...yea. So anyway, I win the third match!!!
Now I'm feeling like I'm no joe shmoe that came to the tournament to lose. I'm feeling like I have a good chance at getting deeper into this. Problem, now the competition is gonna get harder because I am getting farther. I'm fighting my way through the Loser's bracket. Any loss means I'm done.
Sixth match is against KDZ. Ugh, KDZ. The last several times I played against him I got murdered like the screaming white lady in a horror flick. Oh, and this is on the TV that they are streaming on. Oh boy. My first match here on stream and I'm nervous because of how the last time was. Deep breath Rol, easy. It's a new day, a new version of the game, you got this. That's what I had to keep telling myself. This could likely be it. I don't want my first appearance on stream here to look like a massacre as if I don't know how to play. Damn. KDZ puts his mp3 player on, headphones on, and zones out. Damn, this dude ain't even listening to the game. Ugh. Match one vs his Rufus. I hate Rufus. Rufus should die, be burned in the middle of a forest to ensure he can't escape the flames. I'm talking fire like the explosion of the hospital in Dark Knight, with the extra delayed boom! Why! Why! Why! Alright! Let's go to work! Taking my time to try to catch him when he least expects me to attack. Blocking this stupidly potent dive kicks and countering accordingly. Can't do a lot of combos because I'm worried about this dude's EX Jesus Kick coming out. Steady spacing him. Keeping much distance so that I can't get barraged. Oh, but his crouching fierce stabs me from all the way across the screen. That's ok, I still get in and get the job done! Match one, Rolento! Everybody is cheering and screaming. KDZ is pissed. I DP'd him during a move the he thought would beat me out when we both were low on health. KDZ puts up the one second gesture as to say, don't get too excited yet. The headphones come off. He wants full concentration on this next match. He picks Abel. Fuck! The same character that put me in loser's. Ugh, wait a second. He may be picking Abel, but it's not Ryder's Abel. He doesn't have nearly the experience that Ryder has. Alright, let's see what you got! I go in keeping my distance, KDZ working his way in. I take advantage of ever combo opportunity I can. Everybody is getting hyped. Last round, I hit him with a combo to a reset combo! Rocked him!!! ROLENTO FTW!!! That's what I'm talkin about!
Before I get up and go, my next match is announced. It's vs Dr. Cha0s. Here we go. Ken vs Ken. Awkward fight of the century. I just played him in a casual match before the tournament started, I lost but it was a good match. Mirror matches in sf4 are weird. So anyway, we battle, it's a decent match, but I lose. Lots of foward middle kicks and crouching middle kicks. Cha0s' Ken is undeniably good. Much respect.
So I come out in 5th place! Not bad for not going to tournaments for such a long time and then returning after the new version has been around for so long. I'm happy with it. I don't feel like I'm gonna get scrubbed in ssf4, so it's a bit more skill based this time around, and it shows. GG's to everyone I went against! Sanford Kelly won, Josh Wong took 2nd, Dr. Cha0s took 3rd. Word! We'll see what happens next time! I'm comin for that money pot!!!

SSF4 comes to redeem it's former self!

Well, it seems as if Capcom has actually done something that most video game companies lack. They actually listened to their fans! I've been playing SSF4 a little lately and I must say that this new installment actually seems to have a lot more promise than the previous game. It seems way more balanced than the original! Hopefully this will continue to be the case as the official release date is tomorrow. Ken got buffed somethin lovely! OMG, He's finally able to compete with everyone evenly instead of just looking up as if he has a little man's complex. I also got to mess with the Training Mode and found something extra sexy to show off just how good ken is now.

So you've heared a whole lot of reviews stating that this RPG (that is 2 years late on coming out in America) is terrible and that you shouldn't even bother. I for one resent this statement.
Anyone who knows me knows that I never really wanted a PS3 (if you've been reading this blog you'll know how I got one and why), but the only game that attracted me to it was in fact White Knight Chronicles. When I first saw a video of it, I believe it was still in development right after the PS3 was released. The video was all in Japanese, so I couldn't even figure out what it was called. All I knew was that the battle system and graphics of the game looked amazing. So, Onto the Review!!!
White knight Chronicles is an RPG that uses elements that were taught through the MMO FFXI and possibly FFXII and simplifies them into an easier to manage game. This doesn't mean that this game can't be strategic, but it is very user friendly. You can easily tell that they took their time with making this game in most aspects.

Presentation 8.5 - The game itself looks beautiful. It has a very strong Anime look to it, however, games that tend to go this way are usually missing out on detailing in the characters. The world itself looks really good. Nothing appears to have been rushed in this aspect. The menu system isn't all over the place which is a good thing. Sometimes companies try to make RPG's more technical and end up with a super complex menu system that take away from how enjoyable the game is. The movie sequences look pretty close to being on a Final Fantasy level. These are few and far between, but they look damn good. So there, the game looks great!

Gameplay 9 - The controls are similar to what FFXI's controls were, like hold forward and click R1 to Auto Run. Stuff like that reminds any FFXI'er of how they use to play an MMO. The controls are not hard to adapt to at all. This being said, you might be wondering if it's as painfully slow as FFXI...answer....NO! This game seems to run about 2.5x faster than FFXI. I've played a lot of FFXI and was thinking about playing it again, but this game just slapped that Idea right out of my face. The game is super customizable! You start out by making a Custom Avatar that you can use throughout the story line. If you choose not to use him/her, they just tag along for the whole story line, including cut scenes. The attacks and spells that you want your character to use are able to be placed wherever you want in the slot menu on the bottom of the screen. You get about 3 sets of slots to place moves onto which gives you a lot of ways to set things up. The only real draw back to the gameplay is that the game really doesn't challenge you much at all. The challenge is very dry, at least that's true for the single player quest. I haven't beaten this game yet, but so far from playing it for 3 days, I've only had 1 character die in battle and they were revived by going to a save point. So, yea, no challenge.
Multiplayer mode is fantastic! Think about this! Everybody who plays this game get's to make their own town! So what? Sooooo....you can recruit people from town in single player to live there. What's the point? You can set up jobs for people to do to create resourses and sell things in your town. For what? For you to get money!!! Your town is also a HUB for people to join your room and go on missions. So everything starts in town. Kinda nice. You make your town however you want it and it looks like they are selling parts on PSN to customize your town with. Now, Missions in online mode are quite fun. You go to a post near the entrace and look up what missions people are doing, or create your own, and then go. The transition between town to mission is only a few seconds, if even that, so you're jumping right into a game. Very fast paced multiplayer mode. I haven't really noticed much lag either. Maybe a pop or two every once in a blue, but it was probably, that person's connection. After you complete a mission, everybody get's a cut of the Gilder (money), you all get a grade together, and you all gain Experience. During this time, you are only using your Custom Avatar and whatever armor/weapons you have on him/her also shows up. So whenever you are online, you can see other people's stuff. That's a whole lot of reasons for playing online, oh, and did I mention that you can find exclusive weapons online that you can bring back into the single player game? Yea, well thought out.

Story 6 - The story is by far the biggest let down of the game. It's so simple and so bland that you tend to not even care about it. I know that RPG's are carried by story line and this one fails at it. Sorry Level - 5, you gotta step it up. It's not something that you'll hate nor like, it's just there. One of those things where you'll be sitting there playing it next to a friend and you'll both just give each other that "Oooooooooooooooooooook" look because the story is far from interesting. As a matter of fact, the story feels like a Saturday morning cartoon that wasn't fully developed. So there. Story = Meh.

Music/Sound (8/9) 8.5 - The music in the game is decent. Very JRPG driven. The melow music for the lush scenery is perfect and tranquil. However, the battle music and any music that is suppose to drive the emotion of being hyped, just doesn't really do it. The composer nailed the subtle feel of the game, but when it comes to an impacting scene, it's not nearly epic enough. On the other hand, the in game sounds are beautiful. Every cut scene has voice overs. The voice acting is actually ok, Once again, nothing over the top, certainly no Uncharted 2 voice acting by far. The voice actor's just lack the degree of emotion that would enhance the story....as simple as it is. While you're adventuring, however, the characters in your party tend to converse about what's going on around you. They even discuss their ideas of what to look for during a mission. This is excellent! Also, they don't talk enough to annoy you while playing, so it doesn't actually take away from anything. Their quotes aren't even annoying! Brownie points! So that's sorta kinda makes up for the cutscenes to a small degree. The sound effects are perfect and don't glitch at all. Sometimes games' sounds glitch when certain things happen during play, but nothing here seems to do so.

Overall 8 - It's a very well thought out game with some areas that are in definite need of fleshing out or enhancing while still giving a lot to the user in terms of fun factor. I tried to be as unbiased as possible with this and also tried to have an open mind. Most reviewers nowadays seem to bash JRPG's because of how little they have advanced since the PS1 and PS2 days, but let's face it, there really haven't been that many great RPG's in a long time. White Knight Chronicles has a lot of promise in spite of it's flaws. It's worth a play through and I'm sure you'll be hooked very shortly after playing.

Well, I went to Kattermari's place last night for a Philly SF4 Tournament! Man what a tournament. Well, the highlight of my night was getting to play against Sanford Kelly (Santhrax) for the first time. I used Ken (as usual), he chose Akuma. The fight was on! We were both tricking the crap out of eachother, defending, countering, the whole nine. Each match I won 1 round. I was no pushover. After the match ended, Sanford shook my hand and told me that I have a very solid Ken. I could tell he really respected my gameplay style. It was the most sincere look I've ever seen in someone's face at a tournament before. So, later on, after I left, my boy Kazi texts me saying that Sanford keeps talking about how good i played against him. He was saying that he could tell that I don't play a lot of people that are better than me, but if I did, I'd be super nice! Wow, it's really nice to get some recognition from a fighting game Legend such as Sanford. It makes me feel like all this hard work has been paying off and that I'm doing something right! Best Tourney Experience I've ever had.

An Objective Outlook on SF4

Now I'm pretty sure you all have read my rant on how I think SSF4 is going to be broken and how I'm not excited at all about it. Well, I decided to try to take a non biased approach at this whole game. I'm not going to use Ken as a crutch but I'm going to point out things in the game that don't make sense to me. It's just sad to literally hate your favorite fighting game and re-realize why you stopped playing every time you try to get back into it. Now, I'm in the middle of looking for a new place and trying to find a new job, so I haven't had as much time to play as I've wanted. Christmas also made that very hectic at work, so I had some time to waste recently and I decided to write a bit on my thoughts. Let's list and discuss.

1 - Waaaaay too NOOB friendly programming.

There's really no reason why Capcom should be allowing the new SF Team to completely go against the grain of what we've already been taught in SF throughout the years. It seems that in SF4, everything that we've been taught not to do, works! What is the reason for this? When I was growing up, I was taught to block when someone starts a combo just in case they mess up their timing, I was able to block and counteract. Does this carry in SF4? Oh nooo. Now, when you're being hit, mashing DP for some unknown reason is the shit! Y? Cuz it works!!! Now something that you were taught not to do finally works? What's this tell people that are just getting into SF? Being a noob is the shit! Y? Cuz you'll mess with intermediate and pro minds as to what's possible that shouldn't be and you might win based on that. Yes, I know that Capcom is trying to bring people into the fold of SF again, but damn. Where's the hours of training and seeing it pay off? Sometimes it seems like the more you train, the worse you do. I've never felt that way about any SF game until now.

2 - Way too many invincibility frames.

There are just way too many moves that are invincible in this game for nice long durations that really shouldn't be. Like for example, Why is C. Viper invincible when she does her EX Seismic Hammer? She's just standing there on the ground and punching the ground. So why does that make her invincible? What, is she related to Goku and can move so fast that it appears like she's not even moving? It's things like this that make no sense to me. I don't even care that the DP isn't invincible anymore, but why all these other random moves have invincibility that don't even seem like they should.

3 - Way too much Hit Box fluctuation.

Why do the hit boxes not match up with the 3D models? How come Zangief's throw frame extends even if you're not near him. If I crouch and medium kick at him, which places me on the ground, why can he grab me when he's completely standing up grabbing straight foward? Why does Chun Li's fierce punch seem to have much more distance than it looks. I mean, you get hit from the air that it creates when you're in the air. Is she that strong that the wind hurts you?

4 - Way too little recovery time for characters that should have more.

There are too many moves that should have some sort of recovery time. My biggest example is this. Why does a 450lbs fat man have less recovery time than Ken? It just seems a little awkward that a fat man that hasn't trainned a day in his life can be quicker than someone that has trained since they were 7. I was going to use Ryu as and example, but Ryu has less recovery time and can dominate Rufus much easier, But even when it comes to Ryu and Ken, they're suppose to be considered equal. Ryu is suppose to be stronger and more focused on traditional methods, ken is suppose to be a little quicker (not by much) and flashier. That's it? That's the only difference they are suppose to have. It's only suppose to be a subtle difference that's barely even noticable which is why they're rivals as well as best friends. They go back and forth on a regular as to who wins. SF4 pretty much tells a different tale. I tried not to even mention ken in this, but this only helps me stress my point. OK, I'm done with mentioning him...for now. Characters like cammy, I can see why they are so quick, but they need a slight bit of recovery time. Some things just shouldn't be so instant.

5 - The Keep Away / Run Away strategy is waaaay too glorified.

Throughout SF games, running away as a main strategy has never been worth a whole lot and usually opens you up to a flurry of attacks. In SF4, It's frikkin amazing! Running away wins over a lot of strategies. I don't understand why they allowed this. I understand that Ono wanted to make SF4 less of a rush down game, but damn. You gotta take the opposite into more consideration. Also, characters like Abel tend to go against Ono's plans.

6 - Too much air control.

I believe that characters have way too much control over themselves in the air. Never have they had this much control in the air. You can zig zag and all sorts of stuff in the air now. As much as I love it, I have to say that ken's EX Kara Tatsu in the air is also among this list. Yes, I said it. Because it breaks the game. It changes the properties of the move into something else. Would I hate if it got removed? Absolutely, but it doesn't stop the fact that it shouldn't exist.

So there, my objective look on SF4. I hope that Seth Killian and Yoshinori Ono have been paying attention to these different aspects of the game and make these changes for SSF4, but, from what I have been hearing, that's probably not gonna happen. I'm happy that this game came out, don't get it twisted. There are just a lot of things that I hope get addressed in the future games. I commend them for this first game and all the effort put in them, but seriously, don't try backing up flaws as if they were intentional (*cough* *cough* S-Kill).

Super Silly Fighter 4 (WARNING - EXPLICIT)

Well. It seems like everyone just recently jumped on the band wagon when the latest trailer was seen all across the internet. If you haven't seen the latest trailer for Super Street Fighter 4, my buddy Kazi has it posted on his blog at www.johnacosentino.com. Anyway, it now seems like everybody's all hyped because of the new bonus stages, online modes, and characters including Cody, Guy, Dee Jay, T.Hawk, and last but not least, Juri.

I'm sorry. I still have a pretty full glass of "Hater-ade" chillin next to me and it doesn't look like it's gonna be finished any time soon. Why aren't you hyped Rol? Y? Y???!!! Cuz SF4 is so not balanced, that all I can see happenning is us getting a flashier unbalanced game that may be worse than the original. I mean come on! We have a scrub in charge of the whole operation who has made our favorite series scrubtacular. What do you mean Rol? You don't mean Ono do you? Damn right I do! Let's break it down so that you can see why I call SF4 "Street Fighter Liquid" or as I so titled this blog, "Super Silly Fighter 4".

Now, I know that we in America are on the latter half of a recession, but damn. Japan must be having there own from some of the decision making they have been making lately. Let's take a look at little ol' Yoshinori Ono. Alright! This guy was the head of a horriffic project called "Capcom Fighting Evolution". Did you get that? They should have called it "Capcom Sloppy Polution" because the game was just Ass on Wheels. So then this guy gets hired to be the head of the Street Fighter 4 project. Does this make sense to anyone yet? Oh, thought I was the only one confused. If you're not sure what this has to do with anything, go look up that game on youtube. Then come back and finish reading this.

I'll Wait.....

Ok, now that you're back we shall proceed. Now Ono's punk ass gets hired to be the head of the SF4 project. Why would capcom do this? They cancel a project that looked amazing called Capcom Fighting All-Stars and made Capcom Fighting Evolution instead? What the hell is wrong with capcom!!! That's fucking retarted. That's like hiring a cashier at FoodTown to make a Lord of the Rings movie. Better yet, lets get the team that made Red Ninja to make Ninja Gaiden Sigma X5 Cubed Carry the 2 Beta Alpha Cyber Sexy Edition. Yea, makes about as much sense as that.

Now, since the release of SF4, everything that we've ever learned about SF has in some way proven to be false in this recent installment. We've seen Ultra moves destroyed by the most random EX moves. We've seen people get thrown from across the room for no damn reason. We've seen Dragon punches get stuffed like thanksgiving turkeys. Those are just some of the many things that we've seen and are like "wow, only in SF4". I recently popped in SF3 3rd Strike just to play the one street fighter game that I call perfection at it's closest. Then from this I went to play SF Alpha 2. I realized that Capcom has no idea what the fuck they're doing. They went from Alpha, being very good and also developing the 3 series that became super amazing to SF4 where anything can happen because there is nothing stable about it.

I know what you're thinking. Why keep playing if you hate it so much. Well, do you see 3rd Strike tournaments popping up like hot cakes everywhere? No. They are super few and far between. If 3rd Strike came to Xbox Live, I'd more than likely drop SF4 completely. I keep playing because I keep pushing to become a better fighter without being a tier whore. I play because I like meeting people at tournaments and having a blast. I play because I invested way too much into this game to just turn away from it (like 3 TE Sticks, 2 LE games, Figures, etc.). I'm hoping that this turns around the same way SFA went into SFA2, but as of now, i'm not excited at all. I haven't even seen Rolento in the game even though Ono claims that he really wanted him to be in it. Where's he at Ono!? I don't see him! What, it he busy bouncing off walls in the background!?

So yea, I'm not hyped. I'm just afraid of SSF4 ending up being just another pile of shit.

Well, if you have ever watched a movie based on a video game and wanted to slap the producers, you're in for a very surprising treat. This video is called Assassin's Creed Lineage. Demon's Souls (PS3) - A must have!!!

Demon's Souls has to be the most fun game that I own thus far. How would I describe this game? Well, it's battle system is similar to Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time, but waaaaaay way way more realistic. You can even counter attack by timing your shield right when they attack. I have to say that the reviews that this game have gotten so far are exactly what it deserves. Just be warned that this game is VERY VERY VERY Hard. You can easily die from a common enemy. You have to be patient and think outside of the box. I'll do a more thorough review later on, but if you see a copy of this game and are interested. I'd suggest you pick it up. Atlus games are rather hard to find at time and DS is getting snatched up every time it's put on the shelves. Until next time, Keep Rockin Baby!

BTW Recently played a Demo Unit of DJ Hero. I'm so mad that this game is so hot and addictive. Wasn't expecting that at all. Rol out!

Back on my A Game!!!

Well, after the last tournament that I attended, I decided that I needed to take a break from Street Fighter for a while. That lasted about 36 days according to my Xbox Live people met section. So now I'm back on my SF grind getting back to how good I was before. I have to say that the break I took makes me less frustrated when SF4 annoys me. I also seem to be playing with a clearer mind. I see it in my play style. Still rockin with my girl burnyourbra as usual. Get'n some Ken matches in something lovely! So yes, I plan to get back into the Tournament scene again soon.

So by now I'm sure that everyone knows that Super Street Fighter 4 has been announced. I can't wait for it to come out! Apparently, they are trying to fix a lot of the balancing issues and add more characters (hopefully Rolento will be among them). We shall see if Ono will redeem himself by transforming SF4 from blurring the line between intermediate and pro players to making it a game based on true skill. We shall see. Let's keep our fingers crossed and our Dragon Punching hands strong!

Whew!!! Gotta luv some crackheads man, lemme tell ya. Well, for those of you who know me personally, u know that I work at a Video Game Store. I won't Disclose of which store so that I'm still Incognegro about it. Anyway, today I got a PS3 60GB B/C for $20!!!! Yea baby!!! I Told you I wasn't paying full price for a PS3 and I proved my point! Some guy came to my store trying to sell his PS3, but the front cover over the media card section was off. Therefor my store couldn't take it in. SO, once I caught wind that he was just trying to get rid of it and sell it for $20 bucks, My Black Ass Hopped On That!!!!! Yea man!!!! Hate! Hate! Hate! Hate! Summer Jam 3 Aftermath

Well, I didn't get far in the tournament, but I had a ton of fun anyways. Got to see some old friends from other tournaments as well as old college buddies. The Tourney started off with SF4 Teams.

Team exSOLDIER! Mike D. (Balrog), Kazi (El Fuerte), Rolento13 (Ken)

So, we started off fighting Team Supreme which had a 3 top ranked Philly guys that OCV'd us. Rick took us out with Balrog. He has one of the most patient Balrog's i've ever faced. So we got taken down to the Loser's bracket. We beat the next team, but then lost to the team after. Kinda Dissapointed in my performance on this one. Should have waited at the end, got too antsy. Whatever.

So then singles started up half way through the team matches. First person I go against is none other than Magneto Maniac using Chun Li. Good match, but I lost. My second match was against Devil Jin using C. Viper. Very good match, but I also lost this one. So I was out out the tournament completely. People kept telling me that I went up against top ranked people, but it still doesn't make it less annoying that I got no where in the tournament.

On the brighter side, I got to be on the Live Stream with Hubbs, Mike Infinite, and a few others commentating on matches as they played. So, if you were watching those, you probably saw and heared me during some of the matches. It was cool seeing some of my old DOA buddies like Evil, Phoenix, Kasumi Chan, and Jail. I was talking to Frantastic about my SF4 frustrations and he really encouraged me to keep going. Frantastic also agrees with me that 3rd Strike made more sense. It seems like no matter how much I get mad at how the game has been made or my performance, people still want me playing and in the scene. Apparently people don't look at me as some random scrub but an up and coming great player, So that feels pretty good. So I owe all of you who support me and check out my site a lot of thanks for sticking with me. Seems like even though I don't always see it, I have a following. Hopefully I will be able to advance in this game, or become super nice at the next rendition of this game. I've said it many times before, it feels like we are playing the SF Alpha of the series and waiting for SF Alpha 2 to clear it all up and make more sense. I'll tell you right now, when the time comes that Capcom realizes what needs to be fixed in the game and they actually fix it, I'm gonna be a monster!!!

Going to GVN Summer Jam 3 - Philly

Well, It's been a long time since I've gotten to go to a big tournament. There are over 140 ppl signed up for the singles SF4 Tournament. Man this is big! Well, this time i'm going to be accompanied by some good friends of mine. I'll be seeing my homies John (Kazi) and Mike who will actually be my 3v3 Team. These are excellent players that i've known for a long time. I'll also get to see FightClubHubbs (Hubbs Doctor), Big E, A bunch of old friends from my college days, and many more. So it's going to feel like a big family reunion. It shall be amazing. I'm currently practicing to make sure my skills are at their best so that I can be proud of my performance at the Tournament. This will be the first time I've ever been in a Team Tournament as well. So yea, I'm in the Singles and Team Tournament. Unfortunately I don't think anyone is bringing a camera, but hopefully some matches will be posted on youtube. The last time I had recorded video from a tournament I was using a friend's cam. I definately have to get my own one of these days, lol. I'll be sure to give you all an update on how things go down.

- how long have you been playing fighting games?

DC - I've been playing since I was a kid but from how long I was playing and actually knew what I was doing I would say 4-5 years probably.

- which fighting game is your favorite?

DC - Probably Mshvsf and MvC1 because I played them on Kaillera so much.

- how long have you been playing sf / sf4?

DC - I started playing 3s when cps3 was finally emulated around 07. So 2 years. I've been playing sf4 since about August.

- how much time do you put into sf4?

DC - I used to play ALOT especially before console was released. Now maybe its about 5-10 hours a week

- how long have you been in the tournament scene?

DC - 8 months

- why (ken)?

DC - 3s was my first sf game I really understood and could play well, I used Ken in that and just took a liking to him as a character. Not alot of tournament players use him and think hes sucks but I have been doing well with him every since I started playing and have beaten many notable players. When you pick Ken alot of people don't take you seriously and have no idea how to fight against a good one so it has its benefits. I also believe I was the only Ken player to make it out there pools @ evo and got Top 20 so why stop now ^_^

- do you pay attention to the tier list? If so, do you think (character) is where he/she should be?

DC - Not really, sf4 is a game where pretty much anyone is a threat and can win. So I kind of ignore it for the most part. I think the tier list is accurate for mid level play but when its top level play it depends more on the player then the character.

- what do you think of the match ups in sf4 and how do they play a role in your gameplay style?

DC - Match ups are pretty important and should be learned, I think it seperates the good players from the great players. Well I try to learn certain things for certain match ups for example if I low forward on balrog and he headbutts he will go over me and I'll get get a free combo. I try to implement the most advantageous tricks/moves to increase my chance of winning.

- do you feel that sf4 is well balanced? Or do you feel that it needs to be tweaked?

DC - I think its pretty balanced(minus like Vega and maybe some console characters) at the Upper levels but towards the middle and bottom it can be unfair. For example some characters really challenging for new players like Zangief(especially cause of the large reversal window),Blanka, Balrog and Sagat. Back in the arcade days I would lose to any random Zangief, Blanka and Balrog. It took me a while to even win consistently against them,but once you learn what they can/cannot/want to do it becomes easier to defend/attack against them and win.

- what is you favorite thing about sf4?

DC - The stages. I really like Drive-In at night and the Old Temple.

- what is your least favorite thing about sf4?

DC - The short cuts for specials and supers. I hate it when i waste a super when trying to do a simple short jab shoryu combo.

- have you ever felt that you wanted to quit sf4? Why?

DC - No, I was always motivated to beat the person I would lose to at the arcade.

- what do you think of the competition? East vs West? International?

DC - SF4 has alot of competition which I think is pretty good. I think East vs West is pretty even. The west has alot more players then the East though. Japan as a whole is better then the USA.

- being that sf4 has brought a lot of ppl back into the fold, who have you seen that could be a serious threat in the future?

DC - I'm still fairly new to the scene myself so I have no idea whos old or new lol. I think Arturo is the best US players I ever played.

- what would you like to see in the next version of sf4? Capcom's just famous for making at least 3 versions of each sf game.

DC - I would like Makoto added since she was one of my favs.

- if you could say a few words to Capcom, what would they be?

DC - Make a Resident Evil Outbreak 3!

- BONUS ? - now that Blazblue and King of Fighters XII has hit the scene, do you think they will rival the SF4 Scene with how big it's become?

DC - I doubt it @ university pinball. NOBODY at all played kof12 and BB only had a following of like 7-10 people before.

burnyourbra - What I wanted was taken. burnyourbra use to be my yahoo email. I wanted to use my real name, Sola. But of course that was taken.

- how long have you been playing fighting games?

b - Since early 90's.

- which fighting game is your favorite?

b - Marvel vs Capcom 1.

- how long have you been playing sf / sf4?

b - Sf in general since sf2. Mind you I haven't played all of them. Sf4, I've been playing since it was released on the consoles. There's no arcades in minnesota, so I have to play online.

- how much time do you put into sf4?

b - Oh, wow. Um..well I do play it, whenever I get time. About 2 hours a day. That actually average, some days I do play more.

- how long have you been in the tournament scene?

b - In minnesota there's not many tournaments, but I go to ranbats sometimes. When I lived in California, I use to go all of the time. They had ranbats constantly. This was back in 2002.

- why (ken)?

b - Why not! Well, I chose sakura in the beginning. It was just really hard to win. So I picked up ken and I've had more fun playing ken. He grins in his ultra!

- do you pay attention to the tier list? If so, do you think (character) is where he/she should be?

b - I don't pay attention, but I have seen it. I have to agree with him being mid/low which is so sad. But it doesn't mean the character is bad. I never cared about frame data, I just played and if it didn't work, don't do it again.

- what do you think of the match ups in sf4 and how do they play a role in your gameplay style?

b - What I've heard and seen is somewhat accurate. There's other ken players that suck up a dhalsim in a heart beat. I haven't been as successful with that, but it all pertains to the person playing. Doesn't makeme really play too differently than the other sf's. There are a few acceptions like Sagat's standing roundhouse. You can't ignore that. Lol.

- do you feel that sf4 is well balanced? Or do you feel that it needs to be tweaked?

b - I don't think its balanced at all. I tink it needs to be balanced in some ways, like ken hitting the full ultra. Its not Marvel 2 unbalanced. But if Ken is known for his shoryuken, why can fei long kick you out of it.

- what is you favorite thing about sf4?

b - Focus attacks!

- what is your least favorite thing about sf4?

b - um.... where should I start. Ultras in general. The ex bars are cool but the ultra bar is like a reward for getting punished.

- have you ever felt that you wanted to quit sf4? Why?

b - Yes, cuz to me, it took a little longer to adapt because of the mechanics. It seemed like certain things were occurring that souldn't have. Like moves that should be punished are not punishable.

- what do you think of the competition? East vs West? International?

b - If I have to hear one more thing about the east coast west coast. West coast is hard core with their gaming. I use to live there. If they want to have their rivalry then they can have it. You can be wherever you're from, if your good, your good. Internationally, the japanese players seem to be really good. I was at EVO and I sat next to Daigo and watch his hands as he played casuals. The way he was movinghis buttons in comparison to his character was just so in sync. It was so calm and gentle, but when you look on the screen, he's beating somebody really bad. I honestly think that there's something about the japanese players that Americans can learn from.

- being that sf4 has brought a lot of ppl back into the fold, who have you seen that could be a serious threat in the future?

b - From what I've seen, I haven't seen anyone that seems to be becoming a threat. I see that they are pushing Miyuki. She's cool people, I've played her.

- what would you like to see in the next version of sf4? Capcom's just famous for making at least 3 versions of each sf game.

b - Cody from alpha 3, ken being pushed up a few more lvls on the tier list. I like Rolento. Skullomania from the ex series, and a bit more balance.

- if you could say a few words to Capcom, what would they be?

b - Stop F****** up Ken!

Well, I've had the pleasure to rock with burn on many occasions via XBL and now consider her my Twin! We tend to go back and forth in casual matches like nobody's business. She's always willing to take on challengers whenever she can, so hit her up! Burn baby Burn!!!

Thoughts on SF4 after EVO

Well, I've been watching a lot of the matches at EVO and i've been coming to quite a few conclusions about SF4. As you all are aware, there are some strange properties in this version of SF and sometimes annoy the crap out of everybody. So, onward with the conclusions!

First conclusion, but an obvious one, SF4 is far from a perfect game. Seth Killian can back up anything that happens in it and say that it was planned, but that's his job. Sorry Seth, you're not fooling me.

All Ken users have morphed into Ryu, Akuma, and Sagat players, except me. You can say that Ken is under rated all you want, but where were the Ken players at during EVO? ....... I don't hear anything. That's what I thought, lol.

This game doesn't show True Skill the way that 3rd Strike did. I recently played 3rd Strike at 8 on the Break and it was completely obvious who had skill in SF and who didn't. SF4 blurs the line between noob to intermediate very badly. The only line it doesn't blur as bad is intermediate to pro, but it's still blurred a bit.

I've talked to many people about how they feel about SF4 and everyone seems to usually agree that SF4 is the most frustrating SF game they have ever played. So why do we continue to play this? Well, it's all we have SF wise until the next Version. Most of us have either quit and come back, quit completely, or on the edge of quitting. As much as we love SF, SF4 has the most flimsy system properties of any SF game. It just keeps showing that nothing in it is concrete. Maybe i'm just use to how stable SF3 3rd Strike was. It may be weird to say, but the parry system saved SF3 3rd Strike from being a completely unbalanced game. It really began to even things out throughout it's reign. All we can do is hope that Capcom realizes that this game is like the SF Alpha 1 of the series and fixes it in the next SF. Maybe they got this Noob Hero thing out of their systems and are finally going to focus on intermediate and pro game play. Who knows.

If anything, the EVO tournament was nothing short of amazing. I enjoyed watching the matches, but I still have my views on this game as i'm sure you all do. I'll go to the next EVO and enter, but until then, I'm still going to rock Ken even if i get beatdown, why, cuz i'm not gonna cop out and try to climb the tier ladder cuz I lose. Steppin My Game Up

First of all, I'd like to apologize for not making a post for about a month. I was going through some rough times with it and almost quit a week ago. But no worries, cuz I'm back and I'm back to stay. I would like to shout out some of those who helped me by having faith in me when I had none left. Arturo, Demon Hyo, Doctor Chaos, KDZ, Kazi, and Ryder. Thank you guys for not giving up on me.

So, what's new? Well, according to Hyo, I'm not just representing Jersey anymore, but also reppin' Philly. I must say that I feel Honored to be considered one of you guys. So that's the first bit of news. The second bit of news comes from last Tuesday. I came back to the #5 spot at 8 on the Break!!! While doing this, I beat Philly - One, and Smooth Viper. There's a new Rolento in town and he's not taking "You can't beat him" for an answer. I'm sticking with it! I'm going to get that #1 spot one day. It's only a matter of time. I will figure out a way, even while using Ken.

Am I waisting my time?

Well, I went to the Anime Castle tournament in Long Island yesterday. Probably the weirdest tournament I ever went to. Seemed more like a Mario Tournament in the sense that the first rounds that everyone played didn't count due to ppl showing up late and recreating the brackets to fit them. Also, the guy running it didn't really seem to have much tournament running EXP. We needed a lvl 9 Warrior and he was a lvl 5 monk, lol. Hopefully someone got that, anyways. My first match (and these descriptions don't include the matches I won) that ended up not counting was against Artoro. This is the guy that wins every frikkin tourney in Dunellen at 8 on the Break, so I figured he would win the tournament. I tried not to let that get to me and kept moving foward. I decided to use my switch off character instead of my main because the 1st time I played against him, I couldn't even get close to him with Ken. I rocked with Gen this time. Gen definately can get into places that Ken can't and this time I didn't get mopped all over the floor. Artoro's Dhalsim is just amazingly tricky and loves to play Keep Away. So anyways, I got beat, but not terribly beat. My second loss was against Rashan who was using Sagat. I won the 1st round but lost the next two. I HATE Sagat soooo much. Then my last match and loss was against Dam Dai. He was rockin with C.Viper. I used both Ken and Gen against this, but just couldn't pull through. So i sit here wondering, "Am I waisting my Time?" Why can I never get higher than 5th place. Is it my refusal to use a top tier character just to get a win? WTF. I'm constantly trying new things and even learned a new character for sticky situations. So what gives? I feel like i'm waisting time, money, and gas going to these things right about now. I don't know what I should do. It's also not encouraging when you hear ppl talk about them having a SF4 Schedule. WTF is that? No wonder i'm losing. These guys don't do anything else. Maybe i'm just not a hardcore gamer enough. I don't know, but it's really pissing me off. Oh, and thank you Ono for making a street fighter game with the wierdest properties ever. Rolento13 out...

Getting a bit frustrated...

I'm getting a bit frustrated lately with some of the match ups that seem unfair. I really don't like facing Sagat because it feels like he has every advantage over Ken. Everything he does is so freakin powerful that it seems way to easy to overwhelm him. Then there's the poke game that almost feels like no matter what you do you're just going to get hit by a minor tap that will in turn link into some major combo, and what do you know, oh look, an Ultra that just so happens to hit me with the full thing! I'm trying my best to focus on making a way to get through anything, but day after day that door seems like it's only cracked slightly enough to see a small speck of light. I guess that's why more and more people seem to use Sagat online. I rarely see a C. Viper or even Gen. I've even seen the usage of Ken thinning out, at least through my experience.

Ken, Mr.Middle Tier himself seems to be falling to the bottom of the pile lately. Now, I don't like to go by tiers, but when you have grown up with the knowledge of Ryu and Ken being equal your whole life and now finding out that your favorite character has been downsized, you'd be a little upset. Maybe i'm just stressing right now and a little annoyed with how weak Capcom has made Ken in Comparison to the other characters, but damn. I mean, The Dragon Punch, the most classic move in Street Fighter history now has a major trade back on jump in moves. WTF is that!? I almost don't know what to do when someone jumps at me. If i Take the Classic route and use a low dragon punch I will probably trade hits or jump too short. If I use a high dragon punch I will still trade hits! Now, when Ken is trading hits, he has a good chance of taking more damage than the other character that he is trying to counter. So I Ask....WTF! Come one Capcom! Why would they dumb such a good character down so much when trying to revive the series. I don't understand the logic behind it. If they wanted to destroy the reign of Shotos from all of the tournaments then they did a spectacular job.

Whatever. I'm going to find a way around all of this madness and I'm going to get to the top! I'm going to find a way out of every cheesy, corny, unfair attack anyone can throw at me and I'm going to break some heads when I do! Believe it!!!

The Year of the Fighting Game!!!

This is truly the year of the fighting game. Street Fighter IV already came in this past Feb. and now King of Fighters XII, BlazBlue, and Tekken 6! Wow, that's a lot of big name fighting games! Today I went to a Gamestop in Brooklyn to pick up a SFIV ps3 tournament stick so that I can perform at my maximum potential at tournaments and realized that SF isn't the only game I will be able to do this in. Now it doesn't matter what system any current fighting game is on because I have a 360 and ps3 tournament stick. I wasn't even trying to open my 360 stick and try to mod it because I have no modding exp. and I don't want to pay another $150 to replace it. Also, trying to hunt one down is quite annoying. Anyways, I hope these upcoming games are as much fun as they say they will be. Guess I will be jumping back into tekken again, hopefully I will like this one more than 5.

Just finished recording for "Gamers R We" for the upcoming SF4 Review - After the Hype. This is my very first game review I've ever done. We will be editting this ASAP to get it out quickly but with quality! I also did the recordings for my SF4 Combo vid! It's probably going to be a fairly short video but you'll at least get to see some of the things I've come up with. The combo vid will more than likely debut before the review gets out. Combo vids are usually lower production quality vids and are able to be edited much quicker than a review. We are hoping to get the review out by the end of next week. I hope you guys like the vids. Assassin's Creed 2 lives!

One of my favorite games is finally revealing it's second born! Assassin's Creed 2 has hit the cover of Game Informer this month and it looks pretty frikkin amazing! The main character, however, is not Altair. Not that surprising being that it's no longer the Middle Ages (1191 A.D.) and in a different place. The new game takes place in Italy and in a more modern setting (1476 A.D.) and his name is Ezio.

Something that I'm sure will put a smile on your faces is that YOU CAN SWIM!!!! No more drowning in water from missed jumps! The fans' prayers have been answered! Onward we go into our next adventure with a major flaw destroyed. So what's with this Ezio guy? Well he is a long distant relative of Altair but grew up with much wealth and nobility. Something happened that turned him to become an assassin and want revenge on the most powerful Renaissance families. Sounds like a spoiled kid, eh, probably not. I'm sure there's a good reason for this and Ubisoft Montreal has not failed me on the AC series yet.....even though they only made one...technically. The DS one doesn't count.

As Expected, Ezio will have new assassination moves and the ability to even use the water to assassinate as well. Kinda like Scorpion in MK. "Get over here!!!!" *Shpack!* He can even use various different weapons to get the job done! Talk about badass! He seems to have the potential to make us forget about good 'ol Altair. I mean, he's got more weapons (not to mention 2 hidden blades), he isn't afraid of the water, and he's got a spiffy outfit! Yes, even spiffier than Altair's. Let's see, how shall I describe it. Ok, here goes. Take Altair, give him his regular assassination outfit, take him to Italy, have some fashion designer that doesn't pronounce his name the way it's spelled add stuff to his outfit, tell him that he's going to the Royal Ball and needs elegance and boom! Pimped out Italian Altair! Looks pretty cool to me ^_^. Anyway, if you really want to find out more, go grab this month's Game Informer. It's got 10 pages of Assassination goodness! To the Animus!

Millstown Billiards Tourney 4-10-09

What a tournament it was! I came in 4th place and it was anything but easy. There were some pretty high calibur players that attended. My first match was with a scary Zangief! Felt like he caught me with my pants down. Just straight wrecked me the first two rounds. I had to change my entire game plan to get through that one. My 3rd match was against a Sagat player and I ended up going into the loser's bracket from that one. I really don't like fighting Sagat, especially as Ken. He just has sooooo many advantages on most characters. Anyways, we went back and forth and I lost. My last match was against Ryan2df, the winner of the Woodbridge tournament at Gamer's Edge, and what a battle it was. His Able is a sight to behold, omg. I got murdered in the first match so bad. Once again, I had to change up how I was going at him. Took out Able, and then there was Ryu. Ah the classic "Beta Match" (ssf2thdr beta style) as I call it, or as I also call it the "Shoto Shodown". Well, Ryan proved that Ryu is a stronger fighter in our 3rd match. The Final match of the tournament was between Ryan2df and Blue7aZer. What a back and forth match it was! You could cut the tension with a knife. The big winner was Ryan2df and a well earned win at that!

It was really great seeing everybody bring something new to the table and see all the skill that everyone had aquired. This was no scrub tournament by any means! If you have skill and u wanna be apart of a great tournament, go to the next one that they host. What a fun night!

-Xbox 360 - A Video Game Musician's Best Friend-

As you all know, music set's the mood to the video games that we play. Without the intensity of the background music, we wouldn't get as strong of a sense or a heightened sense of awareness of what we are about to undergo. We can tell everything, even if we aren't paying it any attention, if we are in an action packed battle, a very sad moment of losing something valuable, whether we are going into some place mysterious or unknown, to having our skin crawl on the back of our necks because we are scared of what might be waiting for us at the next turn.

Video Game music has come a long way from the old Atari and Nintendo (NES) days. A lot of us musicians admire the composition and elements of the music used today and are trying to create moods of our own. I call these Video Game Musicians. I'm sure you've probably tried to create your own piece of music or tried to recreate your favorite song from some old school video game and didn't quite understand the thought process behind it. Well I'm here to tell you that with your Xbox 360, you can get one step closer to what you're looking for.

Now, most of us VGM's have dabbled into the world of making music digitally. I myself am very into this as well. This makes the process that I will explain a little easier, or shall I say faster. The Xbox 360 has the ability to rip a CD onto the Hard Drive, or memory card if u still use this. Not excited yet? Well, Did you know that when you play a game and have you're ripped music playing at the same time, the xbox shuts down the in game music so that the ripped music plays over it? Maybe you have, maybe you haven't, but now you know either way. How will this help anything? Exactly the point I wanted to make because it helps everything. Not just everything, but E-ver-y-thing! Now, when u finish making that song that you are so proud of and you're thinking "Wow, this could so be in a video game" you can! I mean this literally. Just burn your song onto a CD, put it into your xbox 360, rip it onto the hard drive, replace the CD with a game CD that u think it would fit into, pick the stage or go to the area that most fits your mood, slap the guide button and activate your song, and finally play the game with your music casting it's mood! There you go! You did it! You put your music in a video game, but you're not getting paid for it! lol! At least you're not getting paid...yet.

Ah, the yet part. The part that most of us VGM's would love to get to. The part that would allow us to literally live for the music. The part we all dream about. The part that we are now knocking on the back door to. Why the back door? Well, nobody it listening for the back door but the person at the back door. This is for one purpose and one purpose alone. You are listening to your music through the xbox 360 while playing a game to see these 4 simple things.

1. Does the music you've created fit the mood?

2. How well does it fit? Is it missing something? or have too much of something?

3. How well does the volume work? Too loud? Too low? or just right?

4. Does anything stand out too much?

With these 4 simple questions you should be able to see where you are at in your quest to be a fine VGM/Composer. Hopefully this helps you on your journey to sharpen your skills and to fine tune all that creative energy that resides within you. Try it out for a while and use it as another way to test out your music as time goes on. Take care everyone and make that music LIVE!

Dragon Punch Drunk!!!

They done did it before and they done did it again! I never quite understand why a lot of companies believe in over saturating the public with little gimmick products such as these. The ken dragon punch energy drink was something that came out a while ago and now I just got wind of (from what I understand) a japan only Street Fighter 4 drink. Is this really needed? How much have people already spent on game pads, arcade sticks, collector's editions, etc. and now something such as this? Yes these are real products, but sometimes you just have to sit back and say......why?

Gamer's Edge Tournament Vids!

These are my matches from the Street Fighter Tournament in Woodbridge. I came in 5th place. Big shout to PiKeY for the amazing Abel fight! Never fought an Abel Quite like yours. We will meet again my friend ^_^. Anyways, I have to say that i'm sorry that these vids are not of super high quality for the lack of an ideal camera and it's a bit shakey. You will, however, get the overall feel of what happenned and all the most amazing points are easily viewable.
I have to say that I've never been to a tournament where everyone overall was good spiritted and kinda felt like one big room full of friends. Just sitting around and talking to the other players was a nice feeling. Everyone sharing their online experiences and giving tips to eachother really made me feel that the Street Fighter community has a spirit of togetherness. I haven't felt that with much of any fighting game community other than the DOA community, but that's just my experience.
Great job to Ryan2df for the big win! Good job buddy, hope to play you online soon! Blue7aZer, I shall also see you online ^_^. Great talks and an awesome Balrog Gran Calc! Hope to see you again buddy! Now that you've read this far......time for some vids!

This is a page I made to post different views of mine and insight in video games, art, music, and the world. I hope to enlighten you to different aspects of these topics. As i'm sure you already know, the first posts will probably be about Street Fighter 4.
I Really love SF4, yet there are some changes that have been made that rather frustrate me. Now i'm not claiming to be the best ever in Street Fighter, but I see myself as a decent challenge for anyone I go up against. I'm always trying to learn new things in the game, no matter how frustrating it may seem.
Now, as u can also determine, my main character is Ken. Then why would my name be Rolento? Let's first look at a gaming time line of mains i've had.

SF2 - SSF2THDRemix = Ken
SF Alpha = Ken
SF Alpha 2 = Ken
SF Alpha 3 = Fei Long, Gen (kinda wierd, huh?)
Capcom vs SNK 2 = Iori, Zangief, Rolento
Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike = Ken
Street Fighter 4 = Ken

So, I have always looked at my use of Rolento in CVS2 to be the most tactical i've ever been in SF. The reason for the name came when I started to play Socom online on my ps2. I wanted a soldier name that meant something to me. So I chose Rolento (Rolento Schugerg, for those who don't know his full name). So from then on it stuck. My first name begins with an "R" anyways, so it just flowed. Most ppl who I talk to online call me "Rol", or "Rolen". Some, however, will call me "Rolento". It doesn't matter to me, pick one of the 3. I've even been called "13". If you don't like being hung up with gamer tags (and I fully understand) just call me "Reg".
Well, that's all for my first post. I will be going to a Tournament in Woodbridge NJ on Saturday at a place called Gamer's Edge. I will try to get some video of the event and give you an update on how I do. Hopefully I won't get too nervous and be eliminated in the first round (always a fear of mine).
